About our Friday Night Lectures
Our Friday Night Lectures offer a unique opportunity to come and enjoy an engaging presentation of Buddhist thought around certain Buddhist subjects. Guaranteed to stimulate the mind, this talk is open to everyone.
Sacred Sounds of Mantra
Mantra means ‘mind protection’. The sacred sounds of mantra offer another avenue to deep inner peace and spiritual realisation. The reverberation of theses blessed syllables has long been used as a way to achieve transformations that the thinking mind can’t easily achieve.
On this Friday Night lecture Kelsang Luma will explain the practice of mantra and how we can begin to benefit from it right away.
Everybody is welcome.
The Teacher
Kelsang Luma is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre in Christchurch and is Geshe-las representative in the South Island. She has been ordained under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 18 years and has dedicated her life to studying and practicing his instructions and helping people solve their problems through Buddha’s timeless instructions.
Luma gives clear and practical teachings, sharing her deep understanding of the Buddhist path. Through her teachings and example she shows us how we can easily integrate Buddha’s wisdom into our modern lives.
