What is prayer? Why do we pray? Do prayers really work? These and many other questions about prayers will be answered at this Friday Night Lecture.

The Teacher
Gen Kelsang Luma is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre in Christchurch and is Geshe-las representative in the South Island. She has been ordained under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 19 years and has dedicated her life to studying and practicing his instructions and helping people solve their problems through Buddha’s timeless instructions.
Gen Luma gives clear and practical teachings, sharing her deep understanding of the Buddhist path. Through her teachings and example she shows us how we can easily integrate Buddha’s wisdom into our modern lives.

We do not have eftpos so can accept either cash or bank transfer.

What to expect at a class
These classes are based on Buddha’s teachings on the mind, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend, or to benefit from them.
There is no physical exercise involved and you can choose to sit either in a chair or on a cushion.
These classes are suitable for all levels of experience.
