Class Topics

Growing Through our Relationships – begins week 30 March (5 weeks)

Our relationships can be our greatest teachers. They challenge us, yet also offer powerful opportunities for real growth. Through them, we can learn to be more genuinely loving, patient, kind and empathic.

This Too Shall Pass – begins week of 4 May (4 weeks)

Discover powerful meditation techniques to let go of painful feelings, regrets and resentment. Then we can move on to a more joyful, meaningful life, one that we create moment by moment.

Building Resilience – begins week of 1 June (4 weeks)

Explore some of the most profound methods taught by Buddha to cultivate mental strength and resilience in the face of life’s challenges. Through developing a realistic view of life’s challenges and accepting them, we can gain real confidence to deal with our problems.

Making Happiness a Habit – begins week of 29 June (4 weeks)

Learn essential spiritual advice from the ancient Kadampa text Advice from Atisha’s Heart. Although it was composed many centuries ago, this much-loved Buddhist scripture is full of practical advice to help us deal with the challenges of modern life, and to make happiness a habit.

What to expect at a class

These classes are based on Buddha’s teachings on the mind, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend, or to benefit from them.

Each class consists of two guided meditations and an explanatory talk. The classes run for 75 minutes.

Anyone can practice meditation and everyone is welcome to attend. There is no physical exercise involved and you can choose to sit either in a chair or on a cushion.

These classes are suitable for all levels of experience.
