About the Half Day Course
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest and most obvious truth. Meditating on death and maintaining that awareness, makes us happy now and gives us the energy to live a full and meaningful life.
Meditating on death helps us to realise that this life is temporary and encourages a shift in focus towards inner development. By understanding that death can occur at any time, we become motivated to make the most of this present life and not waste the opportunity that we have. This realisation fuels the desire to practice now, to train our mind and cultivate positive qualities of wisdom and compassion.
Every day we need to recognise we have a precious human life, which is why meditation on death and impermanence is so important. If we understand death and impermanence, we will take advantage of our precious human life and not waste a second of it.
